The man accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk was reportedly living with a transgender partner who has since provided investigators with critical evidence.
Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, was gunned down on Wednesday while taking a question about transgender gun violence before a crowd of 3,000 at Utah Valley University.
According to multiple U.S. media outlets, the suspect — Tyler Robinson, 22, a student now in custody — shared a three-bedroom apartment in Utah with a partner who was transitioning from male to female.
Law enforcement sources say this individual has been “fully cooperating” with the FBI and is not considered a suspect.

Text Messages Handed Over
Reports suggest the roommate turned over text messages allegedly sent by Robinson after the killing, detailing where the rifle used in the assassination had been stashed in a wooded area.
One Fox News source described the arrangement: “The shooter was living with a transgender man who was transitioning from male to female. The status of their relationship isn’t known. They were friends who enjoyed playing video games together. The transgender individual is cooperating fully with police and is not considered a suspect.”
Robinson was arrested late Thursday evening and remains in custody pending formal charges.
Silence on Motive

Lance Twiggs, who lived with Tyler Robinson in a three-bedroom apartment in Saint George, Utah, turned Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin over to police

Speculation has swirled around whether a transgender-related motive played a role in the killing. However, the roommate’s grandfather declined to address those reports when contacted by the Daily Mail: “I don’t want to comment on that.”
Authorities have yet to announce an official motive, though Utah Governor Spencer Cox previously said Robinson appeared to be “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”
Erika Kirk’s Defiant Tribute
Friday night, Kirk’s widow Erika, 36, delivered a powerful televised address watched by millions across the U.S. Fighting through tears, she remembered her husband as “the perfect husband and father.”
“My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children,” she said. “The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. You have no idea the fire you have ignited within his wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
International Fallout
The assassination has resonated far beyond America. In the UK, the Oxford Union confirmed that incoming president George Abaraonye, 20, faces disciplinary action after he reportedly posted a celebratory message in a WhatsApp group of students: “Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f**ing go.”*
The comment has sparked widespread outrage and renewed debate about how political violence is discussed on campus.
A Nation on Edge
As Robinson awaits his first court appearance, the role of his transgender roommate in handing over evidence underscores the complexity of the case — both in terms of personal relationships and political implications.
Meanwhile, Kirk’s supporters continue to mourn and organize memorial events, including a planned service at an NFL stadium expected to draw tens of thousands.
For Erika Kirk and her family, the grief has quickly transformed into a call for perseverance. As she vowed on live television: “His voice will not be silenced. His mission will not die.”
