Vice President JD Vance will step behind the microphone on Monday to host “The Charlie Kirk Show”, honoring his late friend who was fatally shot last week during a campus event in Utah.
Vance announced the appearance Sunday evening on X, posting a photo of his desk setup with a microphone, a notebook, and a china cup and saucer. The show is scheduled to air at 12 p.m. EDT on Rumble.

Remembering a Friendship
Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. His death has sparked national mourning and tributes from political leaders across the spectrum.

In a heartfelt message posted just hours after Kirk’s death, Vance wrote:
“And now that Charlie is in heaven, I’ll ask him to talk to the big man directly on behalf of his family, his friends, and the country he loved so dearly. You ran a good race, my friend. We’ve got it from here.”
Vance reflected on their friendship, recalling that Kirk first reached out to him in 2017, after his appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show. Later, as Vance prepared to launch his Senate campaign in 2021, Kirk was “one of the first people I called” and provided crucial support during his 2022 Senate victory.
A Somber Duty
On Thursday, Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance personally flew to Utah aboard Air Force Two to accompany Kirk’s family and his casket home to Phoenix. The gesture was widely seen as a symbol of respect for Kirk’s contributions to the conservative movement.
The Show Goes On
While Kirk’s voice has been silenced, his show continues. On Friday, producer Andrew Kolvet stepped in to host the program, joined by Kirk’s close friends Tyler Bowyer, Jack Posobiec, and Blake Neff, according to NewsNation.
Vance’s appearance on Monday marks the first time a sitting vice president has hosted the influential conservative podcast. Supporters see it as both a tribute and a commitment to ensuring Kirk’s message continues to reach audiences.
A Legacy That Lives
Kirk’s death, described by authorities as a political assassination, has galvanized his supporters and fueled new momentum for his organization. By hosting the program, Vance aims not only to honor a friend but also to remind listeners of Kirk’s enduring influence.
“Charlie gave so much of his life to mentoring and inspiring others,” Vance wrote. “Now it’s our responsibility to make sure his vision lives on.”
